Civics Education in Clallam County

We provide non-partisan civics education and resources to:

  • Adults in our communities;
  • Teachers and students from pre-school to college; and
  • Families

We promote active, informed participation in our democracy and are involved in various community events and programs to help spread the word about the importance of civic awareness and engagement.

We participate in educational events throughout the County.

We teach students about voter integrity.

At downtown Halloween events we give out Voting Stickers and remind people to vote in upcoming elections.

National Voter Registration Day, September 16, 2025

The League believes it is important for EVERYONE to have the opportunity to vote.  We partner with the Goodwill Organization on National Voter Registration Day, we visit various Peninsula Housing Authority locations to register residents or help them update their voter information and we are always prepared to answer voting related questions and register voters at our various tabling events.

Civics Textbooks

The League of Women Voters of Washington Education Fund works on major civics education projects to teach students how they can participate in making and keeping government effective. The League’s learning materials, which include two versions of the book The State We’re In: Washington: Your Guide to State, Local and Tribal Government, build a foundation for understanding our government and how to be actively involved participants.

One book is for grades 3-5 and one is for middle/high school.

These civics education books available for checkout through the North Olympic Library System and available for purchase or free download here.
