What is this?
A member of the Environment Committee will speak about our local League’s December review of Shoreline Summary for ultimate finalization by our state League, who will submit their proposed changes to the WA State Shoreline Management Act, which is now 50 years old. Our review will answer questions related to these topics-Environmental protection, Climate change, No net loss-Net gain of ecological functions, Local government funding needs, Exemptions allowed under the permitting process, State oversight expansion to ensure local governments are doing their job, Preferred uses further defined on shorelines and how are they prioritized, and Public access needs versus shoreline ecological protection.
