Candidate Interview Volunteers Needed!
Right now the Voter Services Committee is deep into planning and preparing for our virtual Candidate Interviews (previously known as Candidate Forums) which will take place before the Primary and the General elections. We are going to need lots of help. We're making our lists of volunteers up now, so if you're interested, let me know! Here's the list of volunteer needs (don't be shy - training and guidance is provided):
- Assist with obtaining, compiling, and refining questions (questions provided by the community);
- Write the Candidate Interview agenda for public (from a template) - which is distributed to the candidates;
- Contact candidates to set up the schedule;
- Read introduction at each scheduled Candidate Interview;
- Contact papers, radio stations, and do any other publicity decided upon;
- Be a Moderator (training provided);
- Be a Timer (training provided);
- Coordinate and confirm League volunteers (Moderators, Timers, Tech);
Upload the recording to our YouTube Channel (training provided);
- Add chapters to the YouTube recording (training provided);
- Keep running time on moderator script--helps with chaptering; and
- Vote411 - write questions, contact all candidates about dates and explain why we encourage them to participate (training/model emails provided).
Please consider helping to provide this vital service to our community by taking on one of these roles. If you are interested, contact me AND/OR come to the Voter Services Volunteer Meeting on April 9th at 4:30 PM at Clallam PUD at 104 Hooker Rd in Sequim in the Lake Crescent boardroom.
